The announcements of the European Open Science cloud and a 10 year funding plan for NCRIS means it is a particularly good time to reflect on achievements for Australia’s data environment over the past decade of investment.
To take the next steps, it is best to pay attention to history. In this edition of Share, we reflect on the many achievements made by the data generating facilities such as IMOS, NIF and TERN; data integration activities such as ALA, PHRN and AURIN; and data using investments such as NCI, Nectar, RDS and ANDS.
We have much to be proud of. Important partnerships have been established with research communities, research institutions, and internationally. Through this reflection and celebration, we are better placed to explore “what next”.
What will be the transformation of Australian research over the next 10 years of investment in the nation’s research data and data infrastructure?
