Summary of Screen Changes - April 2011
These tables summarise the changes to Register My Data data entry screens released in April 2011.

A functionality to save a record as Draft and be able to return to it at a later time for modification has been added.
Note: All records saved as Draft can be viewed from the Manage My Records menu. Draft records are not published in the ANDS Registry and therefore cannot be searched for in the ANDS Registry or Research Data Australia. |

Each field or element with an error is flagged by a red X icon followed by an informative error message.

| Metadata Content Requirements warning messages |
Metadata Content Requirements warning messages not available. |
Metadata Content Requirements warnings are provided to assist users in meeting their contractual obligations and providing descriptive records. Warnings are flagged to the user through the use of a blue exclamation mark icon shown on each affected tab. Warnging messages are displayed as a blue exclamation mark icon following by an informative warning message. A Metadata Content Requirements report is also shown on the Save Draft tab.

| Reviewing and searching of records |
Searching of a Data Source's own records (Collection, Activity, Party, Service) is done through the Registry search page.

A new page called Manage My Records lists all Draft records owned by the user, and also any recently approved manually created or edited records. The Registry search page is still available for searching for records.

Impementation of RIF-CS v1.2.0 schema: summary of screen changes
All RIF-CS v1.2.0 elements can now be provided by manual data entry as well as by harvest feed. The changes are summarised below.

RIF-CS v1.0.1—telephone and fax numbers were recorded in the Electronic Address type vocabulary.

RIF-CS v1.2.0—telephone and fax numbers are recorded in the Physical Address/Address Part type vocabulary. Prefixes 'tel:' and 'fax:' are no longer required.

| Spatial and temporal coverage |
RIF-CS v1.0.1—spatial and temporal coverage of collections were described using the Location element.

RIF-CS v1.2.0—a new separate Coverage element is now available for describing spatial and temporal coverage. Spatial location in the Location element should not be used for coverage information, but only for the physical location of a collection. Tab:

| Citation | RIF-CS v1.0.1—no specific capabliity for recording how a collection or dataset should be cited. |
RIF-CS v1.2.0—a new optional citationInfo element to allow provision of metadata for use in citation generation. The will enable the citation of datasets independently of any associated publications. Citation of datasets is expected to promote recognition of their value as research outputs as well as greater re-use.

RIF-CS v1.0.1—the relatedInfo element included only a URL link to a publication or other related information.

RIF-CS v1.2.0—the optional relatedInfo element has been enhanced to include type, title and note. These allow for more information to be provided about a publication or website that describes the Registry Object.
