What is Trove?

Trove is the search service of the National Library of Australia (NLA). Party records for researchers and research organisations are displayed in Trove - People and Organisations.

Party records contributed to Trove are assigned a persistent and public identifier, called the NLA party identifier. Trove enables the discovery of research data and other research outputs by persistently identifying researchers and research organisations. Trove builds the public information infrastructure about researchers and research organisations for everyone to use.

What is TIM?

TIM (Trove Identities Manager) is the tool used by NLA for the maintenance of records in the party infrastructure. It enables authorised staff from institutions and organisations to manage party records contributed to the party infrastructure.  See: Trove Identities Manager Guide to managing records in the party infrastructure [DOC]
