Description

The use of drone applications and big spatial data is rapidly increasing across all the sectors and domains. The deployment of these advanced technologies not only provide greater opportunities and enable innovation but also present equal challenges in data management, technological & computing capabilities, sensitivities and other ethical issues.

The Australian National Data Service (ANDS), NecTAR &RDS facilitated a workshop in Melbourne on drones and big spatial data which brought together leading researchers and data specialists from CRCSI, Victorian Government, NCRIS Facilities, various spatial data users and the industry.This workshop consisted of presentations, multiple hands-on tutorials, and also provided the participants with an opportunity for networking for knowledge and information exchange.

Understanding UAV user needs questionnaire

The CRC for Spatial Information (CRCSI) is developing a standard workflow which will help users set specifications for an acquisition and check the quality of the supplied UAV products to ensure they meet user requirements.To achieve this, CRCSI needs your input to better understand the user requirements for UAV data.
